Green Party News Widget

Keep up to date with the latest news from the Green Party of England & Wales with this widget for the Mac OS X Dashboard.

The widget displays the latest news items from the Green Party website, along with the latest videos from the Green Party youTube channel. Clicking on an item in the widget opens a browser window to give access to the full story or video.

Other features include:

ability to restrict the items displayed to a given date range
user-adjustable font size for easier viewing ^[new]
optional automatic notification when new versions of the widget are available ^[new]

Requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later. See below for installation instructions.

Installing the widget

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or later is required. Click the download button to download the widget and then follow the instructions for your browser.

Safari

If you’re using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

Other browsers (e.g. Firefox)

If you’re using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

If you're upgrading from an earlier version of the widget, you may have to manually refresh the widget before it will display correctly. You can do this by clicking on the widget and pressing ⌘R or by logging out. This problem only affects users of certain (beta) versions of Safari.
